This is my first time to Pilates - where do I start?

Firstly Welcome - You are welcome to join any class you wish as they are open level. There are different progressions provided throughout so your workout may be different to the person next to you pending on what level of the exercise you choose.

If you feel more comfortable we also offer a foundations class which provides more insight and overview of the equipment and base level exercises.

I am pregnant, can I come?

If you have been attending pilates pre pregnancy and have been cleared by your doctor you are welcome to join any class up to 16 weeks. After 16 weeks, you are welcome to stay in classes if you are comfortable and we will offer alternatives as much as possible. You may wish to have private or even join mum and bubs .

What do I wear? Do I need socks to participate?

Wear something that you feel comfortable in and allows your body to move. For men, you may feel more comfortable with tight bike pants under shorts.

Yes you will need socks, we recommend grip socks to keep you feeling secure on the equipment. You can purchase in the studio if needed.

I have an injury, can I still come to class?

Pending your injury you may need clearance from your doctor/ therapist. You are welcome to join classes if you feel that you are able to participate in a group setting. The classes offer different progressions where applicable. If you have an injury that prevents or really restricts your movement capacity then perhaps a group class may not be suitable and a private session would be more appropriate. Please ask us if you are not sure.
